Big
Blue Sea
Website
Diving in
Lanzarote is spectacular, which is why so many travel here from
around the world to give it a try. Big Blue Sea Diving is
located at Hotel Galleon Playa, on Avenida El Jablillo, in Costa
Teguise.
The owner, Goetz Schäfer, started to dive
in 1990. He qualified with his Divecon in 1999, his Advanced
Open Water Instructor in 2001 and his dive control specialist
instructor in 2007. He has also achieved his “Speciality
Instructor” for handicap, nitrox, kids, rebreather, cave and
more. He has dived and worked everywhere around the world and
opened the “Big Blue Sea Diving Center” in 2008. Goetz loves to
read books by John Sinclair, to design neoprene stuff and to
free-dive.
To start the day, Big Blue Sea will collect you from your hotel,
and bring you to the diving center. There you get fully dressed
(we have fitting equipment for everybody). In this diving center
everybody gets their own box, with all the supplies you need.
When everybody is ready they pack our bus and drive to one of
their many dive sites
(you can
find those on the home page of their website). After the
first dive you stop for a break with cookies and something to
drink and then you (can) start your second dive. The dive itself
lasts between 45 – 60 min and you go down between 3 – 7 meters
deep
After you arrive back at the diving center, you have to perform
the aftercare of the equipment and all fill in your logbooks
together. When everybody is ready, the guys drop you back to
your hotel. If you have your own equipment, there is enough
space in the diving center to leave it till the end of your
holidays.
The only difference for “non–divers” is that you only do 1 dive
and that you generally do it in the afternoon (but morning is
possible if you want to, and contact the dive center in
advance).
