The Cutty
Sark on Las Cucharas beach front in Costa Teguise has
established itself firmly in the hearts of many locals and
holidaymakers. In March 2009, the bar was sold to Mark and
Rebecca who were previous customers of the bar. They loved
everything about it – and are injecting a real breath of
fresh air into the venue, whilst ensuring that the favourite
things that keep bring customers back remain there to appeal
to all.
This
Cornish feel pub has memorabilia adorning all the walls…
with maritime pictures, and nick nacks to make you feel cosy
and at home. Pride of place above the bar goes to the flag
for Luton Football Club – the real passion of Mark, and
Luton fans are given an extra warm welcome.
This
Costa Teguise bar is open every day of the week from 9:30 am
until late – and has a fantastic menu, with dishes to suit
everyone. The pies are all home made, as are many of the
desserts. Special mention must go to the cheesecake – which
is melt in the mouth goodness. There are daily specials
available, with such dishes as Roast lamb Platter, Big Boy’s
Grill, Gammon Steak, Homemade Cottage Pie, and Homemade Lasagne – to mention just a few. Sunday Roasts are extremely
popular here – with all your favourite trimmings…. And at
just €7.50 for an adult roast is great value for money too.
Then you have their ever popular Curry Nights… every
Monday and Friday, with no less than six freshly
prepared curries to choose from. The portions in this pub
are hearty – and enough to sort out any hungry people. Ask
behind the bar, and the friendly staff will prepare you a
picnic for the beach
The bar
has a sun terrace, which really feels the heat during the
afternoon – and is perfect for the watching the world and
his wife wandering by.
You can
also book your trips to the Sunday Market at Teguise here.
The price is just €12.50 for adults, and €7.50 for kiddies.
The coach can collect from various points around the resort…
gives you 3 hours to meander around the market, and then
brings you back to Costa Teguise. The price includes a Roast
Dinner too – which you can have up until 7:30pm that day.
On
draught we have Estrella, Strongbow and Caffreys. Bottled
beers include Heineken, Magners, Budweiser and Coronita. We
also have John Smiths and Guiness in cans. Of
course they also sell the usual alcopops and soft drinks.
Both branded and local spirits are available here – but
watch those measures… they certainly don’t scrimp. There is
a good range of cocktails available too.
On the
televisions in the bar, you can watch all the major live
sporting action – and for the ladies their favourite
programs are shown when available too, such as Dancing on
ice and Big Brother.
Now onto
something a bit special for Canary Nightlife members too. If
you own a Luton football shirt or a Bedford Blues rugby
shirt – then make sure you pack them in your case! Why?
Because then your first drink in the Cutty Sark is free.
Mark and Rebecca also offer Canary nightlife members one of
their discount cards if you print out the voucher from the
Cutty Sark section of the forum.
Finding
the Cutty Sark is simple. Head to the beach at Las Cucharas,
and follow the bars on the right all the way around the cove
towards the sea wall. Cutty Sark is just around the bend.
