Tandoori
Spice is a brand new Indian restaurant in Costa Teguise,
Lanzarote. Opening in July 2009, the owners are bringing a fresh
of breath air to CC Santa Rosa on Avenida del Mar by using only
the freshest of ingredients and ensuring that absolutely every
dish is prepared from scratch. Not a shop bought samosa or naan
in sight… the restaurant is owned, managed, cheffed and staffed
by Indians.
The theme of the restaurant, as the name suggests, is Spice –
and the décor and furnishings have been specially chosen to
reflect warm spicy colours. The artwork is authentic, and there
is also a screen playing Indian music videos in the background
whilst you dine.
All your favourite Indian dishes are available of course… Korma,
Madras, Vindaloo, Bhuna, Saag, Pattia, Rogan Josh, Pasanda,
Dopiazi, Karahi, Balti, Tandoori, curry, Jalfrezi, Chilli Masala,
and Tikka – and there are also some stunning restaurant
specials, only available at Tandoori Spice. There is also a vast
array of vegetarian dishes available for the non meat eaters
amongst you. Apart from the ice cream, ALL the desserts are
freshly made on the premises. These include such delights as
Gulb Jaman (soft doughy balls covered in syrup), and either
coconut or mango Kulfi which is an Indian type of ice cream –
certainly not for the weightwatchers amongst you as this oozes
double cream and evaporated milk, but all sweet tooths will love
it.
Of course you will be able to have Cobra and Kingfisher bottled
beers here, and local beer will be available on draught, as well
as all your favourite spirits, liqueurs and mixers.
Tandoori Spice will be operating both a takeaway and delivery
service for people in Costa Teguise. This Indian restaurant will
be open from 5pm until late every day of the week. It can cater
for up to 50 people at any one time, seated either inside, or
out on the terrace.
To find the Tandoori Spice Indian restaurant – it is located in
CC Santa Rosa, which is the row of bars and restaurants
diagonally opposite the Coronas Playa Hotel in Avenida del Mar,
Costa Teguise. Tandoori Spice is located towards the middle of
that row, next door to Steptoe’s Bar.
